ABOLITIONIST DREAMSCAPES: THE PODCAST

(LATEST EPISODE)

Welcome back folks! Alright, this episode is a Sip & Chat with my friend and collaborator Forest Brooks. Forest is a songwriter, producer and artist, with a background as an educator in both the public and corporate sector and as a publicist in the entertainment industry. Aside from that, he's a foodie with a penchant for intellectualizing and sometimes overanalyzing pop culture. This time around we are talking about what it means to be 42 and recreating our lives cause we believe our experiences. As we both are in the midst of our Uranus Opposition astrologically, meaning we are in middle age, this is a time when things really do get weird. So how then does one take that energy and create the life that makes sense for you? And why do we keep saying the youth will save us when it is up to all us to save ourselves and one another? What is the role of those in our 40s and beyond in the new world building we say we want? Forest and I get into this, dating, and daring to create through our pleasures.

Dr. Nicole Truesdell

Welcome! My name is Dr. Nicole Truesdell and I am an anthropologist by training and an abolitionist scholar, astrologer, writer, teacher, creative and dreamer in practice.

I use my knowledge and training to deconstruct societal mindsets and imagine a world without oppressive systems governing us. I obtained my Ph.D. in Anthropology from Michigan State University in 2011, specializing in race, racism, citizenship, and the nation-state. I previously taught and worked at Michigan State University, The University of Bristol (UK), Beloit College and Brown University before leaving higher education in 2021. You can read more about me here.

My work and offerings are multifaceted.

I am an organizational and educational consultant, as well as an executive coach. With a focus on creating clarity, choice, and action through a humane lens, I offer support and guidance to individuals and organizations/businesses alike. I combine my anthropological expertise with my training as a practicing western tropical astrologer to help individuals understand their journey to self through private coaching sessions and astrology readings.

I am really interested in exploring the question: What does it mean to be human? And to answer that one must go on a ride through space and time and understand how we became a society that values dehumanization in the first place. This is where my creative work “Abolitionist Dreamscapescomes in. As the founder of Abolitionist Dreamscapes, I help others break the things that remove us from our humanity and do not allow us life while dreaming of other ways of living in the now through my podcast, Patreon, writings, speaking, creative projects, and active social media presence, where I discuss a wide range of topics including the concept of the human, ancestors, and society. My multidisciplinary approach allows me to bridge the gap between academia and spirituality, offering a unique perspective that challenges existing norms and encourages individuals to imagine a world free from oppressive systems. I am currently working on my first book, “Planting Seeds of Abolitionist Dreamscapes”.

My passion lies in my commitment to social change and the belief in the transformative power of imagination and dreaming to have us come back to our humanity.
